KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:

  • Took over the MSF Ijara District Project in October 2012
  • Delivered and distributed sacks of donated clothes from Somali Diaspora in the USA to 1500 families at the Badhade and Kolbio district on the lower Jubba of Somalia on 06/2012
  • Conducted assessment report on the Somalia / Kenya borderline population on health conditions, clean water supplies, and food shortages educational capacity.
  • Delivered medical supplies to Ijara district(Boarders Badhade) hospital on the remote area of Northeastern Kenya region in May 2011
  • Raised funds to make a contribution of $500 to Books for Africa’s on-the-ground projects in the Ijara District of Kenya. (January 2011)
  • Cosponsored an event in Portland, Maine, focused around dialogue on immigrant youth and health in Maine. (February 2011)
  • Participated in the Social Impact Expo at Harvard University in March 2011 and asked to return for Expo in March 2012. (March 2011)
  • Conducted initial surveying mission trip to the Ijara District in northeastern Kenya to provide critically needed medical supplies to hospitals in the area, meet with district and federal government officials and expand collaboration with Kenyan hospitals, organizations, and USAID. (May 2011)
  • Organized press conference with mayor of Lewiston Larry Gilbert in Lewiston, Maine U S A, to bring attention to the famine in the horn of Africa. (August 2011)
  • Hosted a youth soccer tournament in Boston, Massachusetts, with the proceeds of the event going to benefit program expenses. (September 2011)
  • Hosted a fundraising event with Congressman Michael Michaud of Maine and Mayor of Lewiston Larry Gilbert in Lewiston, Maine, to raise funds for the famine in the horn of Africa and Somalia in particular. (September 2011)
  • Sponsored Nairobi World Refugee Cup Competition in Kenya. (May 2011)
  • Shipped 40 ft container of humanitarian goods and material for the victims of the drought in Somalia and Kenya in December 2011.
  • Sponsored fundraising event at Bates College for Horn of Africa Famine Relief (September 2011)
  • Youth Conference in Garissa, Kenya. Reaching out to reduce Youth Risk Factors in February 2012
  • Atlantic Global Aid in Collaboration with Partners for World Health to bring needed medical Supplies equipment and doctors to Ijara/Masalani District Hospital in Kenya in May 2012
  • Atlantic Global Aid opened Youth Friendly Health information Center in Ijara District at Masalani, Kenya, in May 2012
